Question of Balance

Phil Benton

What peace lies at the center we seek?

Snowflakes we are

Souls aswirl in pandemic prance

Blown by gelid gust

Wailing as puckish babes

in desperate search of premise

All ordained to evanescence

What love lies at the center we seek?

Alone we are

Draped in longing and lust

Naked in birth and death

Glancing as flaming comets

intent on cloistered orbit

Slave to galactic tide

East a beginning

South a longing

North a question

West an ending

What beauty lies in the center we seek?

About Phil

Hi, my name is Phil. I’ve managed to escape the corporate world, rid myself of excess belongings, travel the country extensively in my old Winnebago, and find a new home on a beautiful barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. I define myself as: a free spirit, a writer, a philosophical anarchist, a poet; a lover of nature, a lover of art, a protector of animals, as well as a devoted friend and partner
