Someday

man-meditating

Someday I’ll wake above

The crushing weight of yesterday

Free of the braided twine

That binds my bloodied hands

The rusted chain that trails my heel

Through the cobbled streets of dawn

Someday I’ll drink the morning air

And breathe the rising sun

Sated by the hearty nectar

That flows from beauty’s bloom

Promises whispered on gentle breeze

Guide me to a kinder walkway

Someday

Soon

My journey will be realized

And life will begin anew

About Phil

Hi, my name is Phil. I’ve managed to escape the corporate world, rid myself of excess belongings, travel the country extensively in my old Winnebago, and find a new home on a beautiful barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. I define myself as: a free spirit, a writer, a philosophical anarchist, a poet; a lover of nature, a lover of art, a protector of animals, as well as a devoted friend and partner
