Queen of Darkness

You sit aloft on gilded throne

Safe from those who bear your soul

Hedged by hapless minion

Enthralled by giddy image

Cast by magic mirror

Held tightly in your bony grasp

A magnanimous mask

Obscures thin lines of deceit

Creeping like thieves

Across your face

Ravaged by blood lust

Corpulent with tears unshed

Queen of the night

On the arm of eager consort

You hunt for pliant prey

Waxen figures graven in your image

Sucked lifeless by your hungry fang

Indentured in your service

Left to rot in palace dungeon

Revel in your twilight majestic queen

A new day is dawning

About Phil

Hi, my name is Phil. I’ve managed to escape the corporate world, rid myself of excess belongings, travel the country extensively in my old Winnebago, and find a new home on a beautiful barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. I define myself as: a free spirit, a writer, a philosophical anarchist, a poet; a lover of nature, a lover of art, a protector of animals, as well as a devoted friend and partner
