Pirate’s Promise

You took my heart in grey of winter

A trembling wisp of youth’s revenge

Hardened by cruel desire

Wide eyes tracing curious ooze

Trailing slowly between us

Winding river in search of tidal flow

Warmed by lusty fires below

Heightened by suckling greed

Tempered in fear we flowed

Coiled as serpents mating

Fangs shrouded in passion’s restraint

Dubious bond of buccaneers

Ravenous mercenaries bound

For impervious shore

Doomed evermore

About Phil

Hi, my name is Phil. I’ve managed to escape the corporate world, rid myself of excess belongings, travel the country extensively in my old Winnebago, and find a new home on a beautiful barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. I define myself as: a free spirit, a writer, a philosophical anarchist, a poet; a lover of nature, a lover of art, a protector of animals, as well as a devoted friend and partner
