Food for Thought

1,300,000,000,000   (trillion)     Global Fashion Industry sales

695,000,000,000       (billion)     Global Furniture Industry sales

100,000,000,000       (billion)     Global Luxury Car sales

2,095,000,000,000   (trillion)     Total

We humans like to be stylish. A glimpse at the cost estimates above support that assumption.

2.1 trillion dollars are spent globally each year to wear the latest fashions, furnish our homes, and drive the latest luxury vehicles.  I suspect the cost is significantly higher if we factor in everything it takes to be considered really well-appointed or stylish.

Consider this for a moment:

Leaders and experts in the effort to end World Hunger estimate the annual cost of such an effort to be between 30 and 70 billion dollars annually.

Imagine what could happen if ending World hunger became stylish.

  1. That’s why I have a few items I can interchange. Many of my clothes are 25 years old, and still look stylish.
