Paradise Found

images (4)Great Kiskadees

It’s a warm foggy day on the Island.  Decided to take a break from the story I’m working on, stepped out my back door for a needed break and saw two of these beautiful creatures playing on the boat dock.  Oblivious to the lazy pelicans standing around waiting for fisherman to return with their lunch, the two Kiskadees flit around playing tag and yammering back and forth in what must be the language of love.  Let the mating season begin!

Looking out on the bay, busy once again with kayakers, windsurfers, paddleboarders, and fishing boats, I’m serenaded with the sounds of happiness.  Sounds of playful children’s voices, laughing gulls, mourning doves, and the love calls of the kiskadees are all blending together to create what Zac Brown might call an Island Lullaby.  I love this place.

Well, enough of this.  Back to pulling my hair out over this fucking short-story.
